What Drives Me
In the classroom, I am driven by the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to earn an education. This is rooted in my own experiences as a first-generation student and Pell Grant recipient. In the classroom, I encourage students to apply their own life experiences to the material we learn as a way to better incorporate and honor each journey that each of us are on. Through this practice, my students feel respected, honored, and free to speak about how their lives are being impacted.

When conducting research, I am driven by a passion for stigmatized populations that are underserved by society due to cultural/societal norms that policy change and advocacy can address. Through a critical lens, my thesis seeks to explore how individuals who have received an abortion navigate disclosure, impacting psychological and future communicative outcomes. Currently, this reseach is in the data collection process.
